The 2019 Annual Convention of the North American Society for Sport History was held in Boise, Idaho at the Riverside Hotel May 24-27, 2019.

Abstracts for Conference Presentations

The Conference began on Friday, May 24, with the Council and Committee Meetings and the Wine and Cheese social event in the evening. Sessions were held Saturday, May 25, through Monday, May 27, with the final banquet also on Monday night.

The Riverside Hotel is nestled on 14 acres of picturesque roses, gardens, and a courtyard on the banks of the Boise River.  The hotel offers 300 rooms.  For dining and entertainment, the hotel offers the Riverside Grill (all day dining), Sandbar at the Riverside (pub food and river views and nightly live music), The Sapphire Room (music venue featuring a full bar and dining), BAR 365 (a full-service bar located in the hotel lobby), and all-day room service.

The hotel amenities include complimentary high-speed internet access, complimentary parking, and complimentary airport shuttle.  The rooms are equipped with a flat screen HD TV, charging stations, refrigerator and microwave. The hotel is pet friendly and offers a guest laundry.

For 2019, credit card payments are the only form of payment that will be accepted. All credit card transactions will include a 4.75% transaction fee.

Transportation

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to/from the airport.  Simply call the hotel and let them know you are ready to be picked up.

Recreation

The hotel offers an outdoor, heated swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, nearby golf courses, Bogus Basin Ski Area, bicycle rentals on-site.  The hotel is adjacent to the Boise River and Greenbelt, a 25-mile pave pedestrian and bicycle path.  The Boise River Whitewater Park is 200 yards from the hotel and offers stand-up paddle boarding.
